The Malmesbury Clinic wins Best Multi-disciplinary Clinic – South West England!
19/06/2019Human body quiz!
20/08/2019Pippa and Amy are both leaving us for a little while (we like to think of it as a sabbatical) but for very different reasons! You may already know that Pippa and Rich are due to have a baby in September, and therefore Pippa’s last day of treatment will be Thursday 8th August.
Amy is off on a totally different adventure on the other hand, jet setting with her lovely boyfriend Ed, travelling across New Zealand, Thailand and Japan! She has no idea what her plans are afterwards, who knows she may end up living on the other side of the world! But our plan is to lure her back to the clinic in January…so watch this space.
However, if you currently see either Pippa or Amy, the question you may be asking is…
Who do I see now?!
Don’t fret, we have 3 lovely Osteopaths who will cover every day of the week, including evenings and Saturdays! Here is a little bit about each practitioner:
Ana Pret – Ana has a wealth of experience under her belt, having graduated the year before Pippa, in 2011 with the 4 year Masters degree in Osteopathy and Naturopathy from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London, and has worked in Brazil and the UK. Like Pippa, she uses dry needling, manipulation, mobilizations and soft tissue massage during treatments, but she is also currently half way through completing a further diploma in Women’s Health Osteopathy in London. She has a particular interest in this field, so if you’re pregnant, experiencing pelvic pain, or any women’s health issue which may be affecting you physically and perhaps emotionally, she may be just the person to see! Equally, she enjoys treating people of any age group and gender of course, she certainly isn’t just a women’s health specialist! Ana will be working with us on a Monday, Tuesday and a Friday! Steve McCullen – Steve graduated with a Distinction in the Masters degree from the European School of Osteopathy and has continued to push himself and learn more and more techniques as his career has progressed. You’ll always find him on one course or another! He has a continual drive to do the very best for his patients and learn as much as he can about each individual case and condition. Again, like Pippa he will use dry needling, massage, manipulations and mobilizations to treat patients, but also uses subtle, more gentle techniques such as ‘balanced ligamentous tension’ for example, a method of releasing the body by honing in on the ligaments and fascia
(or connective tissue) and gently unwinding or unravelling tension. He has some fantastic outcomes with this, so if you’d prefer a slightly more gentle approach, with the same positive, lasting outcome, he may be your man! Steve will be working with us on half days Monday through to Saturday! To read more or book online with Steve, follow this link.
Josh Gill – Josh, like Ana, graduated with the Masters degree in Osteopathy and Naturopathy from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London. He has since gone on to study with the Grey Institute in the USA and will occasionally fly out there to further his study in the arena of biomechanics of the human body and functional movement patterns. He’s hoping to begin studying a further Masters in pain management next year, but for now he has enough on his plate studying in the USA, running his own clinic up in Nantwich and developing a course with a colleague, which he will be delivering this coming year! As above, Josh will use dry needling, manipulation, joint mobilizations and soft tissue massage during his hands on treatment, but will also add in biomechanical assessments looking at the body’s 3D functional movements and honing in on specific areas that may need attention in the form of either hands on treatment or exercise rehab, or both! He will incorporate home exercise programmes and really focus on why a problem has arisen in the first place. If you’d prefer a slightly firmer hands-on approach, with some in depth focus on your movement patterns and home exercises, Josh may be your man! He will be working with us on Mondays and Fridays! All 3 of our Osteopaths are friendly, easy to talk to and most importantly, they really listen! The constant feedback we get is that patients feel like each practitioner has the time to really sit down and hear what you have to say, work out what’s going on and why it’s got to that stage in the first place, and so the treatment is specifically tailored to each individual and their unique body!
If after reading about each practitioner you’re still unsure who you may suit, please don’t hesitate to give us a call or send us an email, and Pippa will be more than happy to to have a think about which practitioner may suit your particular condition, body type or preferred treatment style. We really want to make sure you feel comfortable with who you’re seeing, and also don’t feel like you have to suffer with pain until they’re back! If you’re having maintenance treatment, don’t let this drop off because you’re apprehensive about seeing another practitioner, these guys are all honestly great, and will take really good care of you!
