Lauren Heesom
Lauren Mitchell is a dedicated and compassionate osteopath who graduated with a degree in Osteopathy from the College of Osteopaths, bringing a solid foundation in healthcare from her previous experience in dental practices. Lauren is currently advancing her expertise with a Master’s degree, reflecting her commitment to providing effective care for patients.
From a young age, Lauren has been an avid equestrian, giving her firsthand appreciation of the benefits of osteopathy after experiencing various falls. Her personal journey with osteopathy inspired her to pursue a career in the field, driven by a desire to help others recover from pain and regain functional movement. Her goal is to extend her practice in the near future to include osteopathic treatments for animals, bringing relief and support to equine athletes and other animal companions.
Lauren is particularly passionate about treating a variety of patient groups, including individuals with equestrian sport-related injuries, pre- and postnatal clients, and elderly patients. She employs a range of osteopathic techniques tailored to each patient’s unique needs, focusing on enhancing mobility, alleviating discomfort, and promoting overall wellbeing. These include structural manipulation, massage, dry needling/medical acupuncture and myofascial release
Committed to professional development, Lauren regularly attends continuing professional development (CPD) courses to stay abreast of the latest research and treatment methodologies. This dedication to learning ensures that her practice is always informed by the most current advances in osteopathic care.
Outside of her work, Lauren enjoys a busy life with her two horses, two dogs, and her one-year-old daughter, balancing her roles as a healthcare provider and a devoted mother and animal lover.
